We all have bad days, there’s no exception to this. The stars don’t always align for us, which makes us snap when we couldn’t take it anymore. Although unlike kids we relatively can’t throw a fit in the public, there are just times when we couldn’t hold the emotions in. The same can be said of celebrities, who, despite being always in front of the cameras, prove that they can just storm off the set—of course, without us knowing it.
We just know that as per interviews and photoshoots, the actors get along just fine, however, the public doesn’t know that drama doesn’t just exist in front of the camera, it also happens behind. Oftentimes, thespians and insiders aren’t clueless when it comes to those who are tagged as notoriously difficult people to work with. Here are some of those who allegedly walked out of the set:
Lindsay Lohan
Perhaps one of those who has a bad reputation in show business is Lindsay Lohan, who started out her acting career during her childhood. Some of her films then were “The Parent Trap,” “Freaky Friday,” and “Mean Girls,” and she was one of those poised to become the next big star – people weren’t saying this without any evidence, she was great as an actress and had showcased how versatile she can be when she transitioned to other genres. However, in real life, she always got in trouble, prompting her career to nosedive.
Despite being dubbed as a difficult star to work with, she was still trusted by Paul Schrader for a role in “The Canyons,” but the director did regret this just as they were filming. He finally saw, er, experienced, what everyone was talking about: how hard it was to be on the same set with Lohan. Here’s what went down: during a lunch break, the actress said she would leave just for a quick break, but worried that she’ll not come back, Schrader instructed the co-producer to check and follow the star and her assistants. There, the production official saw the actress and her assistants ride another car and leave the place.
Lea Michele
“Scream Queens” actress Lea Michele has had her fair share of throwing a fit on the set. This happened during the production of the now-defunct musical series “Glee,” wherein some insiders say she walked out to attend to a personal matter – needless to say, the cast and other production officials were made to wait for her return.
It wasn’t specified how long it took for her to come back but it was enough for her co-star Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez, to be pissed off and to air her complaint to the director. When Michele returned, she learned about what the other actress did and again left the set. As per Michele’s camp, they disclaimed that they knew of what Rivera told the director.
Sacha Baron Cohen
Did you know that Sacha Baron Cohen was supposed to play Freddie Mercury in the blockbuster hit “Bohemian Rhapsody”? Yup, he was set to take on the role but after learning that his character will die in the middle of the film, he backed off, but not with some feisty parting words. Apparently, he believed that no one will be watching a movie whose main character dies and then follow other band members’ stories for the remaining minutes.
The joke’s on him, however, as a lot of people shelled out money just to watch that plotline. Of course, Rami Malek gladly took on the role and even went to rake in awards from the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild.
Faye Dunaway
Multi-award-winning actress Faye Dunaway once left the set furiously because of her hair – right, you read that right. In her 1974 film “Chinatown,” we saw how stellar she performed her role as Evelyn Cross Mulwray in the picture that earned many nods from award-giving bodies. It received critical acclaim but little did people know that behind the glorious movie was a tale that could shock them.
Apparently, Dunaway was a great actress she is in front of the camera, but she wasn’t as cooperative when she’s off-set. Director Roman Polanski noticed a strand of stray hair during one scene so he plucked it himself – uh, oh, it was a start of a chaotic flare-up. This made the actress so exasperated that she was shouting that the filmmaker chopped off all of her hair as she walked off the set. What can we say, maybe she just loves her hair that much.
