What is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF?)
In Vitro Fertilization is a complex medical process that aims at assisting women who face difficulties with giving birth – i.e, fertilization. During the procedure, the mature eggs are retrieved and fertilized through sperms. The mature eggs are collected and sampled in a laboratory dish with sperms. Ultimately, these mature eggs and sperms are manually combined to enhance fertilization. Furthermore, some embryos are transferred to the woman, giving birth to a child.

What Amy Schumer has to say about her experience with In Vitro Fertilization?
The popular actress appeared on the iHeart Radio Podcast’s latest episode of Chelsea Handler recently. In the episode, she opened up about her naive experience with In Vitro Fertilization and shared how troublesome it was for her. “I have seen many people doing in vitro and have heard so many things about it,” she asserts while mentioning that her experience was “agonizingly painful.”
Furthermore, Amy asserts that the pain was unbearable. She says: “The pain was indescribable and awful. I felt like I was about to die. I wonder how people do it so many times. I did it once, and it was one of the horrible experiences of my life.” The stand-up comedian goes on to explain that she had 31 eggs (embryos) transferred and she felt burning hot inside. “After 31 failed embryos, we got only one normal embryo. We tried our level best to work that out, which unfortunately didn’t work out,” she tells the iHeart Radio podcast host Chelsea.

Will Amy Schumer have another child?
Well, the answer, unfortunately is no. “After this agonizing experience with in vitro, we have decided that we will have one perfect child. That is all,” Amy confesses as she wipes her tears. She goes on to say: “ We are going to have a tiny family, and Gene is everything that we have got. We have determined to properly look after him and make him the perfect child.”
Nevertheless, Amy is by no means happy with having only one child. “This is life, you know. We have put everything that we could to have another baby. But things always don’t work out the way you want them to. We can only try at the end of the day, and the results are not in our hands,” a forlorn Amy Schumer tells Chelsea on the podcast.
