The cult sitcom “Friends” may have aired its last episode in 2004 but that doesn’t mean its actors have not flourished after the show. Thanks to the much-acclaimed series, the six lead stars’ careers just blossomed, but of course, fans still associate them with their corresponding 1990s TV show characters. In fact, its legacy lives on till today as millennials remain curious about it. However, the award-winning series wouldn’t be complete without other cast members, right? Have you ever wondered what happened to the child stars of the show?
Brown Bird Sarah Tuttle
Just with name, avid fans of “Friends” can already imagine who we’re talking about – she was the little Brown Bird selling cookies who ended up with a broken leg after falling down the stairs, no thanks to Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) in the episode “The One Where Rachel Quits.” The child star’s name is Mae Whitman, who has been acting since then. Some of her most notable credits include “Parenthood” and “Arrested Development,” and she now stars in “Good Girls.” You may also know her for being the lead in “The DUFF,” a teen comedy film that talks about the designated ugly fat friend in a group.
On growing up in front of the camera, Mae said she was grateful for her supportive parents who made careful choices in terms of the projects they choose for her. Plus, they also gave her the freedom to decide whether she will take on one or not.
Ben Geller
This one’s a bit obvious – he was the son of Ross and was portrayed by Cole Sprouse, who has been acting with his twin brother Dylan Sprouse in numerous commercials and shows prior to “Friends.” Although Cole may sound like a pro in what he was doing, he admitted in an interview that he definitely had a hard time during his seven appearances on the show specifically because he had a crush on Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green, at the time, making him forget his lines.
Of course, now we know that his struggles didn’t become a hindrance to his success as he went on to become a versatile actor. After his “Friends” stint, he scored some pretty neat projects like “The Suite Life of Zac and Cody” and recently, CW’s “The Riverdale,” where he played Jughead.
Emma Geller-Green
Emma Geller-Green was the daughter of Rachel, but did you know that the baby was played by two adorable cuties? They are twins Noelle and Calli Sheldon who went on to have parts in college films and stage credits. They also play Lindsey and Becca in Jordan Peele’s hit movie “Us.”
Mackenzie
One of the most recognized child stars in the show was Mackenzie because of being wise for her age. The role was nabbed by Dakota Fanning, who, by now, you know has a career that’s nowhere stopping. Her character helped Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) when Rachel and Ross moved. Since her “Friends” days, she went on to have an impressive resume, scoring big roles in films like the “Twilight” franchise and “Ocean’s Eight.”
Owen
Owen appeared in Season 10 as the kid who Chandler (Matthew Perry) accidentally told was an adopted child. The character was played by Daryl Sabara, who, prior to his “Friends” stint, was already familiar to the public for being a star in “Spy Kids.” After this, the actor did some more “Spy Kids” films and had an appearance in Disney’s “Wizards of the Waverly Place.” Of late, you might have read his name in headlines after marrying singer Meghan Trainor.
Leslie Buffay
If you can’t remember Leslie Buffay, she was one of the triplets of Frank Jr. and Alice. The two other children were Chandler and Frank Jr. Jr., who was played by Sierra Marcoux and Dante Pastula, respectively. Sierra appeared in “The Poughkeepsie Tapes” and some commercial works, while Dante in “The Polar Express.”
Perhaps, it was Allisyn Ashley Arm who had the most impressive credits among the three – she acted with Demi Lovato in Disney’s “Sonny with a Chance” and the spinoff “So Random!” While she was busy with her acting stint during her childhood, she also got busy between auditions drawing, which she also spends time doing now.
