Dolores Hart was once a great actress but gave it all up to become a nun. It’s not a story you get to hear every day, which is why her fans and pretty much everyone in the industry was stunned to hear the new life path she’d chosen.
Even though she had an uncredited role in Forever Amber as a child, her first proper film debut came in 1957 in Loving You, in which she appeared as Susan Jessup alongside Elvis Presley. By 1963, she entered the Abbey of Regina Laudis monastery in Connecticut. Now aged 82, Hart earned critical acclaim from the 2011 documentary God Is the Bigger Elvis.
