Thelma Barlow became famous for playing the role of Mavis Wilton in the long-running British soap “Coronation Street.” Ironically, her success and big break on the show came from a cameo role. She was so good at executing her part that her fans requested her return, starring in the soap for 26 years.
Barlow would feature in the popular British sitcom “Dinnerladies,” though the show was short-lived. She returned for the show’s 2018 video shorts and was part of the “Coronation Street” Christmas special in 2019. Thelma appeared in “Coronation Street Icons: Norris Cole” in September 2021.
