Now a retired actor and musician, Philip Michael Thomas came into the limelight in the ’80s as the detective Ricardo Tubbs in the TV series “Miami Vice.” Although, he played some notable roles in the ’70s in movies like “Coonskin” and “Sparkle.” Once his fame grew after “Miami Vice,” he began landing several roles in made-for-TV movies as well as advertisements.
His career success remains immortalized in many ways. For one, he voiced the video game character Lance Vance in “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” and “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.” Although he hasn’t been active in the industry since 2006, mementos of his film still pop up today.
