Gabrielle Gifford is an inspiration to many, including her husband Mark Kelly. The former member of the U.S. House of Representatives was shot in the head and had to learn to walk and talk among many other things. She still had to resign from her position though but received a standing ovation from her peers.
She has since become an advocate for gun control and inspired her husband to pursue politics. He is a former NASA Astronaut and Navy Captain who has been serving as the junior United States senator from Arizona since 2020. He also founded a nonprofit called “Americans for Responsible Solutions” to advocate for better gun, control measures.
