Lisa Murkowski & Verne Martell – Married Since 1987
The Murkowski family and Alaska go together like Halibut and white wine. Frank Murkowski, the father of Lisa Murkowski, served as the governor of Alaska, and with keeping a Murkowski in the Alaskan political landscape, Lisa has been the senior United States Senator for Alaska since 2002.
She, like so many other politicians, went into politics after pursuing law, and even worked as an attorney at the Anchorage District Court’s Clerk’s office. This is when she married her husband Verne Martell. They tied the knot in 1987 and have two children together. Since 2021 Murkowski serves as vice-chair of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee.
